Daiquiri Fraise Rustique | Redneck Strawberry Daiquiri
Introduction
A tart-sweet blender daiquiri with a rustic twist from whiskey, tequila, and a splash of beer. Bright lime and lemon balance the sugar, while mint keeps it fresh and cold.
Ingredients
- 7 oz strawberries
- Juice of 3 limes, freshly squeezed
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup tequila
- 6 cups ice
- 1/2 can beer
- Mint for garnish, plus a few leaves for the blender
- 1/2 cup sugar, preferably raw or brown
Directions
- Add strawberries, lime juice, lemon juice, whiskey, tequila, ice, beer, mint leaves, and sugar to a blender in that order so the liquids help the blade catch.
- Blend on high until completely smooth and slushy, pausing to scrape or stir if needed. Taste and adjust: add a squeeze more lime for brightness or a spoon of sugar for sweetness.
- Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
Tips
- Use cold fruit and chilled beer to keep the blend thick without overloading on ice.
- Start with the lower end of tequila, then adjust to taste after blending.
- Balance: if it tastes flat, add a pinch of salt or more citrus; if too sharp, add a touch more sugar.
Optional Additions
- Rim glasses with raw sugar and a pinch of lime zest for extra aroma.
- Swap part of the ice for frozen strawberries to intensify fruit flavor without dilution.
